Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA) commended the issuance of the decision by the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, regarding the regulation of aquaculture farms in the emirate. The Authority affirmed that the decision represents a significant step in developing the aquaculture sector, enhancing the sustainability of marine resources, and supporting the food security system.

Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazeen, Chairman of SFRA, stated that the adoption of the decision reflects the great attention given by the Emirate of Sharjah, under the support and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to developing the fisheries sector within clear regulatory frameworks that contribute to encouraging responsible investment, raising the efficiency of local production, and protecting the marine environment.

Abu Ghazeen emphasised that the Authority will continue to support initiatives and quality projects that serve the fisheries sector in the emirate, and expressed his gratitude to the working team and all those who participated in preparing the draft decision.
