UAE judo team claims Kalba International Championship title

Sharjah 24: The UAE judo team secured the title of the Kalba International Championship 2025 at the conclusion of the competitions held yesterday, Sunday, at the Kalba Sports Hall. The event was organised by the UAE Judo Federation in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council and Kalba Sports Club.

Strong international participation

The championship featured 260 male and female athletes representing 23 countries, contributing to a highly competitive tournament.

Medal results

The UAE team won a total of seven medals: two gold, three silver and two bronze. Uzbekistan finished second with two gold medals and one silver, while Algeria came third with one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

Kalba Sports Club also achieved notable success, earning 12 individual medals — six gold, five silver and one bronze.

Award ceremony

Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of Sharjah Ruler’s Office in Khorfakkan, crowned the winners. The ceremony was attended by Mohammed Obaid Al Hosan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council; Mohammed Jassim, Assistant Secretary-General of the Judo Federation; Issa bin Huwaiden, member of the Judo Federation and Head of the Judo Clubs and Centers Committee in the Eastern and Northern Region; and Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Al Darmaki, Secretary-General of Kalba Club.
