The festival is considered one of the most prominent events in Al Hamriyah, providing a safe environment rich in recreational, educational, and cultural activities, along with ample space to nurture children's creativity and strengthen family bonds.
The festival is particularly significant as it coincides with the school holidays, allowing families to attend the events over ten vibrant and interactive days.
Aisha Al Hammadi, Director of Al Hamriyah branch, emphasised that the festival represents an important platform for children and their families. It features the participation of numerous supporting government and private institutions, as well as specialists in childhood development, who offer a variety of enriching workshops held daily from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. These workshops cover educational, artistic, health, and culinary fields, in addition to workshops focused on promoting moral values, strengthening national identity, raising awareness about safe digital living, and developing positive behaviors in children.
The festival is divided into several interactive sections, including: a games section featuring educational and recreational games suitable for different age groups; a section for local producers showcasing a variety of local products and crafts, supporting family income and enhancing their community presence; and a volunteers' section highlighting the role of youth in serving the community during the festival's activities. The festival also includes a daily raffle and prizes section, adding excitement and increasing audience engagement.
Several government entities and facilities are participating in the festival, including Al Hamriyah Municipality, Al Hamriyah Police, Al Hamriyah Civil Defence Authority, and Al Shaab Village in Sharjah. These entities are providing informational booths and awareness activities for children and their parents. The festival also witnessed a notable presence from members of the "Intaj" Centre, affiliated with SSSD, who showcased a wide range of their products across five main categories: Tayeb for incense and perfumes, Atayeb for food, Al-Ibdaa for handicrafts, Anaqa for fashion and accessories, and Mahra for traditional crafts.
The festival is not limited to children; it also celebrates the participation of senior citizens from the Asala Club, who present demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, fostering intergenerational communication and introducing children to a part of Emirati cultural heritage in an interactive atmosphere.
It is worth noting that the Al Hamriyah Children's Festival, now in its 14th edition, continues to solidify its position as one of the most important community platforms that combines entertainment, learning, and the strengthening of family bonds, remaining a vibrant space that allows all family members to enjoy its diverse activities over ten days.
