Sharjah24: The city of Khorfakkan is set to host the third edition of the Khorfakkan Marine Festival, organised by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club and Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba. The festival will run from 26 December to 4 January 2026 on Khorfakkan Beach, featuring participation from nine countries: UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Zanzibar, India, Iran and Iraq, in a celebration of maritime heritage and sports that reflects strong cultural and maritime ties.

Celebrating maritime heritage

The festival aims to showcase the UAE’s rich maritime legacy, highlight traditional sea-related customs, and position Khorfakkan as a premier regional tourist and marine destination. Activities include heritage displays, sports competitions, and community events catering to all ages.

Economic and cultural impact

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, emphasised that the festival strengthens Sharjah’s role as a hub for regional and international marine events while promoting tourism and economic activity in Khorfakkan.

Ismail Issa Al Hosani, Director of Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba, confirmed live broadcasts of the festival, alongside special reports, allowing audiences to experience maritime performances, crafts, and cultural activities that celebrate Khorfakkan’s coastal charm.
