SP chief honours Dr Faisal Al Hosani for cancer research

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, honoured Lieutenant Dr Faisal Hassan Al Hosani, Director of the Biological Examination and Testing Branch at the Criminal Evidence and Laboratories Department. The recognition celebrates Dr Al Hosani’s distinguished scientific contributions and the excellence of his doctoral dissertation on a rare and advanced topic in cancer research.

Presentation of Dr Faisal’s scientific work

During the ceremony, His Excellency received a gift copy of Dr Faisal’s book, which is an abstract of his joint doctoral dissertation in molecular medicine conducted with the University of Sharjah and the University of Lübeck in Germany. The work presents an in-depth study of the molecular mechanisms behind colorectal cancer development.

Key findings of the research

Dr Faisal’s research highlights the pivotal role of the CARD11 gene in regulating the tumor’s immune environment and its influence on inflammatory pathways linked to disease progression. The study is notable for its use of archival biopsy analysis, a highly specialised technique that required advanced laboratory methods to extract high-quality genetic material.
