Arsenal holds Premier League lead with win over Everton

Sharjah 24 – AFP: Arsenal maintained their top spot in the English Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Everton in Matchday 17, extending their lead to two points over Manchester City. The Gunners have held first place since Matchday 7, increasing their points tally to 39, while Everton remains in tenth place with 24 points.

Viktor Jukkasson scores decisive goal

The match’s only goal came from Swedish defender Viktor Jukkasson, who converted a penalty in the 27th minute, securing all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Manchester City temporarily tops table

Manchester City briefly moved to the top of the table with a 3-0 win over West Ham. Norwegian striker Erling Haaland scored twice, in the 5th and 69th minutes, while Dutchman Tijani Rayner added a goal in the 38th minute. City now have 37 points, while West Ham remain in 18th place with 13 points.

Liverpool continues strong form

Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2-1 in London, marking their fourth win in six matches across all competitions. Substitute Alexander Isak (56) and Ugo Ekieke (66) scored for Liverpool, while Richarlison (83) scored Tottenham’s lone goal.

Current standings

Liverpool climbed to fifth place with 29 points, level with fourth-placed Chelsea but behind on goal difference. Tottenham dropped to 13th with 22 points after their second consecutive league defeat.
