Ronaldo, who missed Portugal’s last two matches against Mexico (0-0) and the United States (a 2-0 win) in March due to an injury sustained with Saudi club Al Nassr, has since returned to action with his club and is expected to be fully fit for the tournament. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is set to extend his record of World Cup appearances to six.
The Madeira-born forward, who has also featured in six UEFA European Championships, previously confirmed in November 2025 that the 2026 World Cup may be his final appearance on the international stage.
The tournament, scheduled from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will see Portugal placed in Group 11 alongside Colombia, Uzbekistan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Ahead of travelling to their main training camp in Palm Beach, Florida, Portugal will play two warm-up matches at home—against Chile on June 6 near Lisbon and against Nigeria on June 10 in Leiria.
