Sharjah 24: The Sharjah International Marine Sports Club recently wrapped up its first-ever Sharjah International Rescue Championship, which brought together 86 athletes from different countries. This exciting event highlights the growing importance of safety and rescue sports around the world.

The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi, Advisor at the Ruler's Office, and other officials, who celebrated the winners and acknowledged the impressive performances and sportsmanship of all participants.

Ahmed Issa Al Hosani, the Director General of the club, pointed out that rescue sports are recognized globally and are even part of the Olympic program. He emphasized the importance of these sports in training professional rescuers, helping them to be physically and mentally prepared, and ensuring they can respond quickly and effectively to emergencies at sea.

Al Hosani noted that organizing this championship aligns with Sharjah's goal of supporting specialized sports, promoting maritime safety, and hosting international events that encourage the sharing of knowledge and skills in rescue operations.

The championship featured intense competition across multiple categories, showcasing the high level of talent among the athletes and reinforcing Sharjah's reputation as a prime location for international sporting events.

The club's general manager expressed gratitude for the support from the Sharjah Sports Council and partnerships with other organizations, reaffirming their commitment to continuing such meaningful championships that blend athletic competition with important humanitarian values.
