Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has announced the launch of a new service called “Awn +60,” dedicated to senior citizens aged 60 and above. This service aims to facilitate their access to the department's services without requiring a visit to its headquarters. It can be accessed simply via WhatsApp at 0547091212 or by calling the landline number 065122660.

Wide range of services

The “Awn +60” service allows for a wide range of services, including issuing, renewing, and amending licenses, processing commercial permits, technical evaluations, legal services, and all other departmental services.

SEDD explained that this service is provided outside the department's premises, specifically for senior citizens. Department staff will visit the applicant's residence in cases where they find it difficult to use modern technology or visit the department's offices. This ensures their transactions are completed with ease and complete comfort. Furthermore, their satisfaction with the service is regularly measured to ensure continuous improvement and to meet their needs according to the highest quality standards.

Flexible and smart services

His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD and Member of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), affirmed that the “Awn +60” service embodies the Sharjah government’s approach to caring for senior citizens and providing them with flexible and smart services that meet their needs and prioritise their needs.

Al Mahmoud emphasised the department’s commitment to making its services more accessible, whether through digital platforms or field visits when necessary, reflecting its dedication to providing high-quality and exceptional services to all segments of society.

Valuing senior citizens

His Excellency added that “Awn +60” is not merely a service offered by the department, but a unique initiative that translates Sharjah’s vision of enhancing quality of life and providing accessible government services to all members of society, especially senior citizens.

Al Mahmoud stressed that the department’s initiatives are a direct reflection of the wise leadership’s directives to value senior citizens and provide services befitting their status. He considered the “Awn +60” service an important step towards providing a flexible and efficient service system that reaches beneficiaries wherever they are, offering them a more convenient government experience.
