Wildfires ravage southern Argentina as rain brings relief

Firefighters are also battling additional blazes in Chubut and neighbouring Santa Cruz provinces, while another fire continues to burn within Los Alerces National Park. Rain offers temporary relief

Rainfall on Sunday brought some relief to residents in parts of Patagonia. Governor Ignacio Torres described conditions as calmer but warned that the situation remains critical, citing the province’s worst drought since 1965 and urging greater awareness of the impacts of climate change.
