Khorfakkan Municipal Council meets in Shis to discuss development

Sharjah 24: Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al Murr Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council, announced that the council held its general meeting on Tuesday in the Shis area. The meeting aimed to strengthen communication with local residents and government entities, listen to their feedback, and explore ways to enhance development across the region. Specialised council committees are tasked with following up on issues raised and submitting appropriate recommendations to the relevant authorities in the Government of Sharjah.

Listening to residents’ views

Speaking to “Sharjah 24,” Dr Al Naqbi said the meeting provided an opportunity to meet the Deputy Wali of the area and residents of Shis, hear their observations and proposals, and reinforce direct communication channels.

Role of specialised committees

He noted that the council operates through several committees, including social communication, coverage and development, public facilities, and health and environmental protection, which review feedback, discuss public issues, and take decisions or refer them to the concerned authorities.

Dr Al Naqbi added that the council is keen to maintain continuous coordination with government departments and residents through regular meetings held in various areas and institutions across the city.
