The Indonesian Air Transport turboprop, carrying three civil servants and seven crew members, lost contact with air traffic control on Saturday before crashing into Mount Bulusaraung in eastern Indonesia.
Mohammad Syafii, head of the national search and rescue agency, told reporters that the latest victim found was a woman. A man’s body was recovered on Sunday, leaving eight people still unaccounted for.
Rescue teams have so far been unable to evacuate the bodies due to poor weather conditions and limited visibility in the mountainous area.
The aircraft was travelling from Yogyakarta to Makassar on Sulawesi island and had been chartered by the fisheries ministry to monitor marine resources, according to the minister.
Authorities have located parts of the wreckage, including the fuselage, tail section and windows. However, the aircraft’s black box has not yet been found.
