The visit took place within the framework of the 26th edition of the Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival, held under the theme “Siraj”. Al Qaseer welcomed the delegation, emphasising the depth of cultural and fraternal relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and highlighting the importance of such visits in strengthening cultural exchange and artistic dialogue rooted in shared human values.
During the tour, the Egyptian delegation viewed a selection of exhibitions and artworks participating in the festival, which present contemporary interpretations of Islamic art through diverse visual approaches that combine authenticity with experimentation, reflecting the aesthetic and spiritual richness of this artistic heritage.
Dr Hussein praised the festival’s high artistic and organisational standards, noting that it reflects Sharjah’s global standing as a leading hub for culture and the arts. He also commended the Sharjah Department of Culture for its support of creativity and for hosting artistic experiences from around the world.
Counsellor Shaimaa Darwish expressed admiration for the diversity and intellectual depth of the exhibited works, describing the festival as an important cultural platform for fostering dialogue and strengthening ties among people.
