Como, the surprise package of the season, bounced back from their recent defeat by beating hosts Lazio 3–0 in the final fixture of Round 21 of the Italian top flight.
The team coached by Spaniard Cesc Fàbregas, who were promoted to Serie A last season and finished tenth, continue to impress with their football after claiming their tenth league win of the campaign.
Como moved up to 37 points in sixth place, securing a UEFA Conference League spot, just two points behind fifth-placed Juventus and five points clear of seventh-placed Atalanta.
Como effectively decided the match in Rome in the first half. Croatian Martin Baturina opened the scoring just two minutes after kickoff, before Argentine talent Nico Paz added a second goal in the 24th minute, then missed a penalty in the 35th.
However, the 21-year-old, who joined from Real Madrid, went on to score the third goal in the 49th minute, taking his league tally this season to eight goals.
By contrast, Lazio suffered their seventh league defeat of the season, and only their second loss in the past nine matches across all competitions (the other being a 2–1 defeat to defending champions Napoli).
