The event was attended by a number of the institution’s children and included various heritage programmes and activities, as well as the distribution of traditional sweets that reflect the authenticity of the occasion, helping to introduce the children to popular heritage, strengthen their connection to the national identity, and provide a supportive social environment that fosters their sense of belonging and happiness.
Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, confirmed that organising the mid-Shaban event falls under the “Making Orphans Happy” initiative, through which the Foundation aims to bring joy to the hearts of children who have lost their fathers and to introduce them to community and national occasions. This enhances their quality of life and contributes to the balanced development of their personalities.
She explained that Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela Al Qasimi's participation provides significant moral support for the foundation's children and reflects the wise leadership's commitment to empowering them, emphasising that such social engagements have a profound and positive impact on both the children and their families.
She added that the foundation is keen to revive heritage and national events as part of a comprehensive empowerment framework, given their social and humanitarian values that contribute to strengthening national identity and instilling authentic customs and traditions in the younger generation, and their role in promoting social cohesion.
She noted that the foundation continues to develop high-quality programmes focused on the well-being of children and the development of their life and social skills, in line with its strategic goals of transitioning children towards sustainable empowerment.
Through these events, the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation reaffirms its commitment to providing an integrated environment that supports the psychological and social development of children and enhances their participation in community events. This contributes to preparing a confident generation capable of actively participating in the community development process.
