Sharjah 24: The University of Al Dhaid (UOD) hosted a scientific event on the theme "Heritage and Sustainable Development," organised by the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, with broad participation from government entities and a select group of academics, researchers, and specialists.

The event aimed to highlight the importance of heritage as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development and to raise awareness of its role in consolidating national identity and building a knowledge-based future.

Scientific and dialogue sessions

The event programme included scientific and dialogue sessions that addressed a number of issues related to heritage and its role in strengthening national identity and supporting cultural, economic, and social sustainability, and highlighted the Emirati experience in preserving and documenting heritage.

The event saw active student participation through research papers addressing diverse topics, reflecting the role of academic institutions in raising awareness of the value of heritage.

Accompanying activities

Visitors also engaged with the accompanying activities, which aimed to highlight the role of heritage in supporting sustainable development and strengthening intergenerational communication.
