Sharjah 24: The University of Al Dhaid is preparing to participate in the Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition 2026 as part of its efforts to enhance its academic and research presence in supporting the agricultural sector and contributing to the development of innovative solutions based on sustainability and modern technologies.
Highlighting the university role in developing applied agricultural knowledge

The university’s participation this year comes within a strategic vision aimed at highlighting its role in developing applied agricultural knowledge by presenting a range of educational and research initiatives and programmes that reflect its commitment to linking educational outcomes with the needs of the agricultural sector in the UAE.

During its participation, the university will highlight its most prominent research projects and academic specialisations related to agriculture and the environment, in addition to showcasing its efforts in supporting innovation and empowering students and researchers to develop practical solutions that contribute to achieving food security and sustainability.

The College of Environmental Sciences, particularly its Geology department, also plays a prominent role in studying natural resources and understanding geological formations and their relationship to the agricultural environment, contributing to sustainability and efficient resource management.

As part of its scientific participation, the university is taking part in the dialogue sessions accompanying the exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.

Her Excellency Professor Dr Aisha Ahmed Bushlaibi is participating in the first dialogue session, titled “National Agricultural Data – From Data Collection to Decision Making,” on the first day, April 22, 2026. The session will address several key themes, most notably the role of academic institutions in transforming agricultural data into predictive models and practical solutions that support decision-makers, as well as discussing the readiness of educational outcomes to keep pace with the digital transformation in the agricultural sector.

Harnessing AI technologies to achieve sustainability and production efficiency

The university is also participating in the Second National Agricultural Extension Forum, which highlights the future vision for agricultural extension, harnessing artificial intelligence technologies to achieve sustainability and production efficiency, enhancing livestock production efficiency, and implementing good agricultural practices. In this context, Professor Abdullah Al-Saadi, a professor at the College of Agriculture, will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence to Achieve Sustainability and Production Efficiency,” on April 23, 2026.

In this regard, Her Excellency Aisha Bushlaibi emphasised that the university’s participation in this event represents an important platform for strengthening cooperation with various entities and institutions working in the agricultural sector, and for exchanging experiences and knowledge.
