Sharjah24: Her Excellency Halima Humaid Al Owais, Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), expressed her thanks to council members for selecting her as Chairperson by acclamation, following the acceptance of the resignation of His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, during the tenth session of the third regular term of the eleventh legislative chapter.
Al Owais stated that the Council will continue its parliamentary work collectively with a spirit of teamwork and national responsibility, building on a well-established path laid down by the Council’s founder and primary supporter, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. She said this path is based on strengthening the Shura approach and reinforcing the Council’s role in discussing vital community issues and supporting the emirate’s comprehensive development journey.
In statements to Sharjah 24, she added that in the coming phase the Council will work to enhance integration with government entities and activate its oversight and legislative tools in line with the leadership’s vision and in service of the people of Sharjah, affirming their commitment to the responsibility entrusted to them and their determination to deliver effective and responsible parliamentary performance.
