Sharjah 24: The University of Kalba launched its Ramadan Race in Kalba City, drawing more than 500 runners from across the UAE, including over 100 women. The event featured 1 km, 3 km, and 5 km race categories and offered prizes totaling AED 50,000, promoting sports, fitness, and healthy lifestyles in the community during the holy month of Ramadan.

Participants competed for prizes distributed across the three race distances, adding extra excitement and incentive. The rewards highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering community engagement and celebrating athletic achievement.

University of Kalba Ramadan Race kicks off with strong participation

Dr Sheikha Abdullah Al Zaabi, Director of Student Affairs at University of Kalba, officially launched the race on Friday. She noted that the event brought together a diverse mix of runners, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere that energized both participants and spectators alike.

Promoting sports as a way of life

Dr Al Zaabi told Sharjah 24 that the race attracted participants of all ages, including children, youth, and adults, reflecting strong community involvement. She emphasized that the event is a distinctive sporting initiative that captures the vibrancy and energy of both the university and Kalba City during Ramadan.

Al Zaabi highlighted that the university’s mission goes beyond academics, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity. The race encourages students, parents, and children to embrace sports, adopt healthy habits, and maintain a balanced lifestyle.
