Engineer Rashid Al-Madhani, Director of the Fili Heritage Project at the Sharjah Initiatives Implementation Authority (Mubadara), described the souq as a major boost for heritage tourism and support for the local economy in the Fili and Madam areas.
The souq is a lively site with 18 companies lining the paths, each showing off a different aspect of Fili's culture. It has a classic Emirati design. At the pottery studio, local artisans show youngsters and families how to mould clay. Visitors gather at the coffee house, sharing conversations and enjoying Emirati hospitality amid the town’s daily rhythms.
Al-Madhani also talked about the "Fili Nights" celebration, under the patronage of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event brings together families for a range of activities, competitions, and prizes, combining the region’s cultural traditions with lively entertainment suited for all ages.
Inviting the public to visit, Al-Madhani said, "The Fili Heritage Souq offers a unique Ramadan experience where history, culture, and modern leisure come together. It’s a place for families and visitors to enjoy the spirit of the season while connecting with the authentic traditions of our region.”
