Sharjah24: Brigadier Yousif Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, affirmed that the authority’s teams are operating with full readiness around the clock to manage the exceptional circumstances facing the country.

Al Shamsi explained that the authority operates within an integrated national system led by the competent authorities to ensure community safety and uphold the normal continuity of life.

Elevated operational readiness

He noted that the authority has raised operational readiness levels across all field centres and operations rooms while strengthening rapid response plans to ensure immediate handling of any reports or potential incidents in line with the highest standards of efficiency and professionalism.

He emphasised that human safety remains the foremost priority in all operational plans and procedures.

Integrated network of response centres

Al Shamsi stated that Sharjah’s civil defence system depends on a comprehensive network of field centres equipped with advanced tools and specialised vehicles, operated through a modern control system that allows teams to reach incident sites within minutes.

Civil defence teams now operate through 14 centres across different parts of the emirate, along with strategic deployment points in key locations, improving the ability of response teams to handle incidents effectively while ensuring continuous services for the community.

Preventive measures and monitoring

The Director General stated that recent measures involve improving the operational readiness of field personnel, enhancing preventive deployment at key sites, and increasing field monitoring to ensure safety and protection systems in facilities are fully operational.

Advanced communication systems connecting operations rooms with field teams have also been activated to ensure real-time monitoring of reports and quick decision-making.

Community safety and normal daily life

Al Shamsi affirmed that life in the Emirate of Sharjah proceeds normally, thanks to the comprehensive national readiness system and the effectiveness of the relevant authorities.

He noted that civil defence teams maintain their routine duties by responding to incidents, conducting preventive inspections, and running community awareness programmes aimed at boosting safety culture across society.

Commitment to readiness

He concluded that the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority will maintain the highest standards of readiness, backed by qualified personnel, advanced technologies, and modern operational plans to guarantee swift responses in all situations.

Al Shamsi stated that the current level of readiness reflects ongoing institutional efforts through proactive planning, continuous training, and coordination with relevant authorities. This approach strengthens the emirate’s preventive system in safeguarding lives and property while ensuring a safe and sustainable environment.
