Khalid Al Kindi, Director General of Sharjah Taxi, said: “This initiative aims to support taxi drivers during the holy month of Ramadan in recognition of their daily efforts in serving the community. It also reflects the company’s commitment to its social responsibility and its keenness to strengthen cooperation with local entities, foremost among them the Sharjah Charity International.”
He added: “The initiative forms part of a series of community programmes implemented by Sharjah Taxi to promote the values of social solidarity and support this group while performing their duties, in recognition of their continued efforts. It also reflects the company’s commitment to providing a supportive working environment that contributes to enhancing drivers’ wellbeing and raising levels of satisfaction and happiness.”
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem stated that the “Iftar Sa’em” project is one of the key initiatives of the Ramadan campaign, reflecting the principles of social solidarity and strengthening partnerships between the association and government and private sector institutions wishing to participate in this charitable work.
He noted that the initiative, launched in cooperation with Sharjah Taxi, represents one of the programmes of the “Iftar Sa’em” project, implemented by the association across more than 129 iftar distribution locations in the emirate. The initiative underscores the importance of charitable partnerships and encourages institutions to fulfil their social responsibilities, particularly during Ramadan—a month marked by numerous initiatives targeting those in need through the collective efforts of individuals and organisations.
The distribution process witnessed careful coordination among the teams to ensure that meals reached all taxi drivers across the emirate during the holy month.
It is noteworthy that Sharjah Taxi is one of the companies affiliated with Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.
