“Sharjah Duathlon” achieves success with wide participation

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Duathlon was successfully held on Saturday, 14 March, at University City of Sharjah. The event was organised by the Sharjah Sports Council in cooperation with several supporting and contributing entities.

The competition witnessed wide participation from both men and women across various categories. The event was attended by Mohammed Ali bin Hammad and Yousif Al Hosani, who crowned the winners.

In the Sprint category, which included 5 km running, 20 km cycling, and 2.5 km running, Khalifa Al Nuaimi secured first place among UAE national men, followed by Adel Al Nuaimi in second place and Mohammed Bakheet in third. Among UAE national women, Moza Al Muhairi came first and Khawla Omar second. In the same category for the open men’s division, Volker Voit claimed first place, followed by Syed Ammari in second and Mustafa Kormoa in third. In the women’s division, Marina Lemos finished first, Shaimaa Awad came second, and Monica Livia placed third.

In the Sprint men’s team category, Hassan Al Tamimi and Ahmed Al Naqbi from Al Qudra Team won first place, followed by Mohammed Atef and Dani Laroubi from Samsers Team in second place, while Sultan Al Marzouqi and Mohammed Al Hammadi from Dubai Team finished third.

In the Super Sprint category, which included 2.5 km running, 10 km cycling, and 2.5 km running, Rashid Salem won first place among UAE national men, followed by Mohammed Ahmed Al Naqbi in second and Jassim Saeed in third. Amal Al Kaabi secured first place among UAE national women. In the open men’s division, Lidor Rodel came first, Karam Mahmoud second, and Mustafa Al Tamimi third, while in the women’s division Gigi Naloz won first place, Hong Liu finished second, and Alaa Hussein came third.

In the Junior category, which included 1.5 km running, 10 km cycling, and 1.5 km running, William Kingsley won first place in the boys’ division, followed by Kirill Sosolinkov in second place and Dani Nasef in third. In the girls’ division, Leila Bowles secured first place, Maria Enia finished second, and Harriet Roswell came third.
