The club announced that its new 26,700-seat venue, Nu Stadium, will feature the “Leo Messi Stand” when it hosts its first match on 4 April, marking a rare moment in global sport where an active player is honoured within his home ground.
Inter Miami stated that the naming reflects Messi’s ongoing influence on the club, emphasising his role in transforming the team since joining three years ago.
Since his arrival, Messi has led Inter Miami to four titles, including the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2025 MLS Cup, significantly boosting the club’s profile and success.
The new stadium will serve as a permanent home for the club, replacing its temporary venue at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, where Inter Miami has played since joining Major League Soccer in 2020.
The club noted that the tribute is unique, celebrating a player’s present impact rather than past legacy, recognising Messi’s ongoing contribution on the pitch.
