The initiative, organised by the Happiness and Positivity Section, was held in line with this year’s World Health Day theme, “Together for Health… Support Science.” It aimed to raise awareness about the importance of regular medical check-ups and encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles that contribute to maintaining public health.
The event saw participation from several hospitals, clinics, and healthcare centres.
The initiative included a range of comprehensive health screenings for employees, including blood tests, blood pressure checks, diabetes screening, eye examinations, vitamin level assessments, body fat percentage measurement, and muscle mass analysis.
Free health screenings and specialised medical consultations were also offered, along with the distribution of gifts to participants.
Captain Salem Mohammed bin Ashour, Head of Initiatives and Employee Benefits Branch, highlighted Sharjah Police’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of its personnel, pointing out that this directly impacts better job performance.
He added that such initiatives help promote health awareness among staff, encourage regular check-ups, and support the adoption of healthy lifestyles that improve their operational readiness.
Captain bin Ashour praised the strong participation of personnel and their eagerness to benefit from the initiative’s health services, reflecting their awareness of the importance of maintaining health and prevention as essential aspects of both life and work.
He also expressed appreciation to the participating and supporting entities for their efforts in the success of the initiative and their role in promoting a culture of prevention and health awareness.
