Sharjah24: Abdullah Saeed Mohammed Al Harethi Al Naqbi, Head of the Corporate Communication Committee at the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, announced the launch of the National Paralympic Committee Powerlifting Cup on Saturday at the club.

The championship features six teams and 35 male and female athletes, with strong competition aimed at enhancing sporting competition, developing the level of athletes with disabilities, and providing them with the opportunity to showcase their abilities and achieve success.

He explained that the event aims to raise the level of competition, help players achieve top positions, and further develop their technical skills, thereby enhancing their readiness for upcoming competitions.

Al Naqbi added in statements to Sharjah24 that the tournament features a strong matchup between Dubai Club and Khorfakkan Club, with Dubai participating with 11 players and aiming for positive results.

He emphasised that the championship is part of ongoing efforts to support sport for people with disabilities, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents and achievements, and reflecting the growing attention given to developing this important sporting sector.
