SRTA disburses AED 9,144,000 to old taxi license plate holders

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced the commencement of the annual bonus disbursement to owners of old taxi license plate numbers in the emirate for the year 2025, totalling AED 9,144,000, at a rate of AED 2,000 per owner.

The SRTA also confirmed the continuation of monthly compensation payments to beneficiaries, as part of its support for this low-income segment, enhancing their standard of living and providing them with the means for a dignified life.

His Excellency Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, revealed that the number of beneficiaries of this bonus reached 4,572 owners whose vehicles are currently operated by franchise companies under the SRTA's umbrella.

Providing a decent standard of living

For his part, His Excellency Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Jarwan, Director of the Sharjah Transport Authority, affirmed that this step comes in fulfilment of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his constant concern for monitoring the living conditions of citizens, especially owners of older vehicle registration numbers, enabling them to meet the demands of life and provide a decent standard of living for themselves and their families, and embodying the values of social solidarity in the community.

Al Jarwan explained that the disbursement of the rewards was carried out after all the approved conditions and instructions were met, emphasising the Authority's commitment to facilitating procedures for eligible recipients without any obstacles.
