Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Club was crowned overall first-place winner in the UAE Stars Championship for Citizen Athletes (teams) for the second consecutive time. The tournament was held at the Sharjah Sports Club indoor hall in Al Hazana.
Six trophies confirm complete control

The “Karate Kings” underlined their dominance by winning six trophies, securing top position across all categories. The club’s cadet, junior and youth teams won both kata and kumite competitions, sweeping all titles.

Strong participation from across the country

The second edition of the championship saw wide participation, with 204 male and female athletes representing eight clubs from across the UAE. Sharjah Sports Club alone fielded 34 athletes.

Leadership praises structured development

Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, board member of Sharjah Sports Club and head of individual sports, said that winning the championship for the second consecutive time and collecting all titles reflects the strong work of the technical and administrative teams in karate. He highlighted the club’s continued focus on developing talented Emirati athletes capable of representing the club and national teams at a high level.

Long-term strategy focused on youth development

Al Hajri explained that the club continues to attract Emirati athletes and build a strong base of promising karate talent through ongoing development programmes. He said the results are the outcome of an organised system and a clear technical vision aimed at strengthening the club’s position as one of the leading institutions for individual sports in the country.

He added: “The club has implemented a strategic plan over the past seven years focused on strengthening the youth base. We ensure a continuous generational transition that allows sustained success and achievements. We remain firmly committed to these goals.”

Appreciation for support and continued success

At the end of his remarks, Al Hajri thanked the Sharjah Sports Council for its continued support of clubs and individual sports, and also praised the club’s board for its backing and follow-up. He congratulated the karate team, players, and technical and administrative staff for their efforts, which resulted in this outstanding achievement and total dominance of the championship titles.
