Sharjah Club signs agreement with UAE Wrestling Federation

Sharjah24: In the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the UAE Wrestling Federation, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Secretary-General of the Federation, signed a cooperation agreement with Sharjah Sports Club, represented by Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Sports Department.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the third edition of the UAE Wrestling Federation Cup, held at Mubadala Arena. It aims to support the spread of wrestling, discover promising sporting talent, expand the base of practitioners, and enhance the level of sporting competition.

Objectives of the agreement

The initiative comes as part of the Wrestling Federation’s efforts to support national talents capable of representing the UAE in regional and international championships. It also seeks to contribute to the development and advancement of wrestling across the country, particularly given the prominent role played by Sharjah Sports Club in supporting national teams across various individual sports.

Statements from Sharjah Sports Club

Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri emphasised that the agreement reflects Sharjah Sports Club’s commitment to supporting and developing individual sports. He noted that wrestling has strong potential to produce champions capable of representing the UAE honourably in international competitions.

He added that cooperation with the UAE Wrestling Federation will help discover and refine emerging talents and provide the right environment to develop their technical and physical abilities, serving Emirati sport as a whole.

Al Hajri further stated that Sharjah Sports Club continues to work in line with a vision focused on investing in Emirati athletes and strengthening the presence of individual sports across various age groups. He described the agreement as an important step towards building a strong base of distinguished athletes, supporting sustainable sporting success and enhancing the UAE’s sporting position both regionally and internationally.
