The Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club team won the Cup, finishing first in the overall standings by earning the most medals.
The tournament saw attendance from Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Wrestling Federation; Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Secretary General of the UAE Wrestling Federation; Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports; Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Fouad Darwish, CEO of Palms Sports; members of the Federation's Board of Directors; and various officials, guests, and representatives from the participating clubs and academies.
The third edition attracted wide participation from various clubs and academies, as players competed in the under-13 and under-17 categories in matches that witnessed close levels and strong technical performance, showing the players’ readiness and ability to take on high competitive challenges, which enhances the role of the tournament in developing their physical and mental skills, and consolidating the values of discipline and commitment among them.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan said that hosting the third edition of the UAE Wrestling Federation Cup, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, shows the strong support wrestling has in the UAE. He highlighted the need to keep investing in youth categories, as they are essential for building the future of wrestling and preparing a generation that can effectively represent the nation in various competitions.
His Highness also pointed out that the championship marks an important milestone at the end of the 2025-2026 sports season and provides a chance to celebrate the accomplishments made throughout the season. He confirmed that the Federation will keep working on its agenda and programs to support clubs and academies, strengthen the role of Emirati wrestling in local sports, and open pathways for greater success in regional and international competitions.
The Wrestling Federation agreed to cooperate with several sports clubs, including Al Dhafra Club, Sharjah Club, Al Nasr Club, Fujairah Club for Martial Arts, Baniyas Club, Khorfakkan Club, and Al Ain Sports Club. This collaboration aims to promote wrestling across clubs in the UAE.
The agreements also aim to attract and identify promising athletes, who will assisst in improving athletic competition via speacialized training that develops players and sharpens their skills. This supports the Federation's efforts to prepare a new generation to represent the UAE in various regional and international events and championships.
