60 players from various clubs across the country took part in the tournament.
The championship, first of its kind, witnessed a strong competitive atmosphere in the under-15 boys and general men's and women's categories.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports; Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club; Dr Huda Al Matroushi, President of the UAE Modern Pentathlon Federation; Mleiha Club Abdulrahman Muhair Al Ketbi, Board Member and Chairman of the Media and Corporate Communication Committee at Mleiha Club; and Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, Executive Director of Mleiha Club.
Al Khasouni explained that the club is keen to provide training programs for players and provide support for their participation in various tournaments, stressing that the impressive results achieved serve as motivation to strive for more successes in future events.
He pointed out that hosting the tournament on Mleiha’s obstacle course is a sign of readiness at the infrastructure level, and confirms the club’s willingness to support modern sports and provide advanced facilities to develop rising talents.
