Abdullah Hatem, Taekwondo Technical Director at Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation clubs, said:
“The Qatar Open is among the strongest regional championships, and participation from athletes representing 15 countries demonstrates the level of competition. Despite the challenging bouts and varied technical styles, our athletes delivered consistent and strong performances, earning ten well-deserved medals, including three golds achieved through high-level performances across the stages of the championship.
The noticeable improvement in technical and mental performance this year clearly reflects the progress our teams have made. This development is the result of carefully structured preparation programmes and specialised training introduced from the start of the season.
Our ambition goes beyond regional championships—we are working towards preparing athletes capable of competing internationally and paving the way for future Olympic representation under the name of the foundation and Emirati women’s sport.”
This participation reaffirms the readiness of the foundation’s teams and the advancement of their training system, strengthening their presence in international competitions and supporting their path towards further achievements. It aligns with the foundation’s vision of developing a generation capable of representing Emirati women’s sport at the highest levels of competition.
