Al Dhaid branch of SDPW celebrates UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad

Sharjah24: Al Dhaid Branch of the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) organised a field visit to the Sharjah Museum of Natural History, the Botanical Museum, and the Arabian Peninsula Animals Centre, in celebration of the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad. The initiative aimed to raise cultural and environmental awareness among participants and introduce them to the nation’s natural heritage and biodiversity.

During the visit, participants explored various facilities, learning about important scientific exhibits and collections. They were introduced to different plant and animal species that are vital parts of the UAE’s local environment. Specialised explanations were also provided on national efforts in environmental conservation and wildlife protection.

Promoting national identity and environmental awareness

Engineer Khalifa Al Darmaki, Director of the Al Dhaid Branch, emphasised that this initiative is part of the branch’s activities to celebrate UAE’s Eid Al Etihad and to promote values of belonging and national pride. He noted that such educational programmes showcase the UAE’s significant achievements in conserving its natural environment and wildlife.

Strengthening community engagement

The visit also enhanced community engagement, reinforced the role of institutions in participating in national celebrations, and highlighted the museum and centre's efforts to raise environmental awareness among the public.
