The UAE strengthened its global scientific profile with the launch of six satellites: Thuraya 4, MBZ-SAT, AlainSat-1, HCT-SAT 1, the second phase of the Foresight constellation, and Etihad-SAT. The UAE Space Agency also announced the completion of the final design phase for the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA).
Space 42, in partnership with ICEYE, confirmed the successful launch of three SAR radar satellites—Foresight-3, Foresight-4, and Foresight-5—into low Earth orbit.
In November, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre announced the completion of the Rashid 2 rover for the Emirates Lunar Mission, reinforcing the UAE’s expanding leadership in space exploration.
The year 2025 demonstrated the success of national initiatives aimed at empowering Emirati women. The UAE ranked first regionally and 13th globally in the UNDP’s Gender Inequality Index. The World Economic Forum also selected three Emirati women to join the Young Global Leaders Council for 2025.
This year marked the launch of the Mother of the Nation’s 50:50 Vision, aimed at strengthening national identity, governance, family well-being, and international development partnerships.
The UAE maintained its strong efforts to support citizens’ housing needs. The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme approved 2,971 housing applications from January to the end of Q3 2025, valued at AED 2.069 billion. Additionally, a financing initiative was introduced to assist loan beneficiaries, particularly senior citizens.
In Abu Dhabi, authorities announced agreements to develop 13 new residential communities offering over 40,000 homes and plots, with a total value of AED106 billion. Dubai revealed housing projects worth AED5.4 billion and approved a housing package exceeding AED2 billion, encompassing more than 1,100 residential units. In Sharjah, the Executive Council approved two batches of land grants for 3,500 eligible recipients — 1,750 residential and 1,750 investment plots.
