Sharjah Police confirmed that the recorded violations were caused by some drivers' failure to follow mandatory lanes and designated routes for each vehicle category, in accordance with the Federal Traffic Law. Article 8 specifies a fine of AED 1,500 and 12 traffic points for heavy vehicles that do not adhere to the mandatory lane, while Article 70 states a fine of AED 500 for failing to comply with traffic signs and instructions.
Sharjah police also confirmed that monitoring operations continue through smart radars and modern cameras, alongside traffic patrols, aiming to ensure regulations are enforced to uphold the highest safety standards for all road users.
SPGC urged all road users, including motorcyclists, heavy vehicle drivers, and bus drivers, to stick to designated lanes and follow traffic instructions, emphasising that compliance helps save lives, improves traffic flow, and creates a safer road environment for everyone.
