Sharjah 24: Hamed Al-Qaid, member of the Higher Committee for Rain Emergencies at Sharjah City Municipality, explained that the municipality had developed a comprehensive plan to address the low-pressure system. Work teams were deployed throughout the city before the system's onset, ensuring the maintenance of drainage networks, stormwater outlets, vehicles, and equipment.
Proactive plan

Hamed Al-Qaid, member of the Higher Committee for Rain Emergencies at Sharjah City Municipality, announced that the municipality responded to the heavy rainfall associated with the low-pressure system with 183 mobile pumps, 186 tankers, and 6 high-capacity water tankers, in addition to 20 vehicles for towing disabled vehicles.

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Al-Qaid added that the plan began with the restructuring of the Higher Committee for Rain Emergencies. Several main and sub-committees were formed and distributed across various areas of Sharjah City to ensure a rapid response to emergencies resulting from the rainfall.

Comprehensive response

Al-Qaid confirmed that efforts were intensively distributed on the main roads in the city, to achieve a rapid response and smooth traffic flow and to prevent disruption of the main roads, and this was achieved, noting that the work teams are still working in the field around the clock to end all the effects of the low-pressure system.
