ASAF Youth Sailing Cup launches in Sharjah

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the Asian Youth Modern Sailing Championship officially began at Al Hamriyah Beach, bringing together young sailors from 18 countries.

Warm welcome and official opening

Salem Ali Al Khayyal, Chairman of the Organising Committee, announced the start of the competitions, welcoming participating delegations and wishing them success. He also expressed appreciation to the government and private entities that supported the organisation of the championship.

Platform for young talent and sports tourism

Al Khayyal highlighted the tournament as an important competitive platform for nurturing young sailing talents, enabling the exchange of experience and raising the standard of Asian competition in the sport. He added to “Sharjah 24” that the event reinforces Sharjah’s status as a leading host of international sporting events and contributes to promoting sports tourism in the emirate.
