Sharjah 24: The thirteenth session of the Sharjah Scout Theatre Festival kicked off on Monday evening, December 29, under the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The event was attended by notable figures, including Abdullah Al Owais, the Head of the Department of Culture, and festival organizers, along with many scouts, their families, and friends. The festival performances are being held in a specially arranged area resembling a scout camp at the headquarters of the Sharjah Scout Commission.

On the first day, a panel of judges, which included experts from the UAE, Egypt, and Iraq, watched four different performances. The first was from the Sharjah Scout Commission (A) and was titled "Each in an Orbit." This play focused on the journey of finding oneself and cautioned against comparing ourselves to others. It featured a conversation between a grandfather and his grandchildren, conveying the message that success comes from believing in oneself.

Next was "Be Careful... It's Just a Moment," presented by the Sharjah Scout Group (B). This serious performance depicted the consequences of reckless driving through the story of a man whose careless actions led to a terrible accident, resulting in the loss of limbs and paralysis, as well as constant nightmares.

Group C presented "Nightmare," a play illustrating the dangers of pursuing fame on social media and trends, showing how such fleeting moments can have serious repercussions. Finally, Group D ended the evening with "Road," which emphasized the risks associated with reckless speeding, especially among motorcyclists, and how ignoring good advice can lead to tragic outcomes.

All the performances showcased a mix of humor and serious themes, and they truly engaged the audience.

As the first day wrapped up, the judges announced the winners of the various awards. The Best Actor award was shared among four performers: Mohammed Anwar Hamza for "Each in an Orbit," Abdullah Ahmed Al Mansouri for "Be Careful... It's Just a Moment," Yaqoub Yousef Ibrahim for "Nightmare," and Khaled Fahd for "Road."

Faisal Moussa took home the Best Storyteller award for "Road," which also won the prize for Best Adaptation of a Theme. Meanwhile, the play "Be Careful... It's Just a Moment" was recognized with the Best Concept award.
