This collaboration is part of an initiative launched by GCCJPPI to revive "works from the golden age" through modern digital platforms. This will allow new generations to discover the educational and artistic values embodied in these works, while also reviving childhood memories associated with Gulf television for older generations.
In this context, His Excellency Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director General of GCCJPPI, expressed his delight at this collaboration with Maraya, emphasising that it aligns with the Institution's plan to disseminate its rich archive of animated and educational works across Gulf digital platforms. This will contribute to expanding the reach of these works and strengthening the presence of a shared cultural identity in Gulf and Arab visual media.
For her part, Hind Al-Saidi, Director of the Maraya platform, explained that this collaboration contributes to developing the platform's content and diversifying its visual library, emphasising the importance of leveraging the expertise of a long-established institution that played a pioneering role in establishing the joint television production industry in the region.
Ms Shurooq Rashid Al-Suwaidi, Director of Program Acquisition at SBA, also noted that this collaboration opens new horizons for exchanging high-quality content and developing joint future projects, embodying a model of Gulf media integration in the digital age. Maraya platform has already begun broadcasting a number of classic animated works, giving users the opportunity to watch a selection of series that still hold a special place in the memories of Gulf and Arab viewers.
GCCJPPI boasts a distinguished historical legacy of artistic and media works and programs produced since 1976, and currently seeks to make some of these available through the platforms of ministries, institutions, and media authorities in the GCC countries, thereby enhancing the societal benefit from this cultural content.
