Rubu’ Qarn members join Arab Puppetry Forum in Cairo

Sharjah24: Members of the Rubu’ Qarn Centre for Theatre and Performing Arts, through the Puppetry Arts Centre—the only specialised puppetry centre in the region and an initiative of Rubu’ Qarn for Theatre and Performing Arts—are participating in the fifth Arab Puppetry Arts Forum. The event is being held in Cairo from 20 to 24 January 2026, at the invitation of the Arab Theatre Institute and in cooperation with the Cairo Puppet Theatre of Egypt’s Ministry of Culture.

The participation features a puppet theatre performance, Chairs, reflecting the Centre’s commitment to empowering its members, developing their artistic skills, and encouraging deeper engagement with this specialised field through interaction with advanced Arab experiences and dedicated professional platforms.

A silent, visual performance

Chairs is presented as a silent, music-driven puppet work that relies on movement, rhythm and symbolic elements to explore human themes without dialogue, offering a visual and kinetic storytelling experience that highlights contemporary artistic approaches in puppetry.

Building exchange and regional presence

The participation offers a valuable opportunity for members to engage with specialised Arab audiences, exchange expertise with practitioners, broaden their theatrical horizons, and strengthen the presence of Emirati puppetry at specialised Arab events.
