Sharjah24: Photographer Shoayb Khattab explained that his background in architecture has enabled him to view photography differently from the ordinary observer. This perspective shaped his exhibition, “Sacred Geometry”, which focuses on details through a distinctive abstract approach. The exhibition is presented as part of the 10th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival 2026.

Shoayb Khattab stated that abstraction is the central element of the “Sacred Geometry” exhibition at the International Photography Festival. He explained that he photographed the Black Stone and the Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba in a way that highlights fine details, inviting viewers to contemplate elements that are difficult to notice while performing Tawaf around the Holy Kaaba.

A rare visual journey through Makkah

In statements to Sharjah24, Khattab added that he focused on the architectural details of the Grand Mosque expansion, documenting and reflecting the aesthetic qualities of these designs through an abstract visual language. He noted that the goal is to encourage audiences to contemplate the photographic works, especially given that they depict the holiest place on Earth.

He explained that the Xposure offers a rare visual journey through Makkah, revealing the Holy Kaaba in a state of profound stillness that is almost impossible to capture. In these images, the Kaaba appears in its purest form—majestic in its silence.
