Athens Mayor highlights environmental ties at Xposure

During his remarks, Doukas described his presence in Sharjah as a unique experience, noting that it provided an opportunity to identify areas of importance for cooperation between Sharjah and Athens. He pointed to Xposure as one of these opportunities, expressing pride in hosting Athens ,affirming that this represents a great honour for the Greek capital.

Doukas added that the visit opened new prospects for promoting Athens globally, including its historic landmarks such as the Acropolis and other iconic sites. Beyond culture, he underlined the importance of environmental cooperation, pointing to discussions with BEEAH, a leading global waste treatment hub based is Sharjah, and exploring potential partnerships with the Municipality of Athens in waste management.

Concluding his remarks, the Athens Mayor expressed confidence that the coming period will witness the launch of joint initiatives and shared-interest projects, reinforcing long-term cooperation between the two cities across culture, sustainability and innovation.
