The meeting, held at the council’s headquarters in Sharjah as part of the third ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term, forms part of preparations for an upcoming session dedicated to discussing the department’s policy, assessing its operations and reviewing its future plans.
The delegation was received by committee members including Engineer Jameela Al Fandi Al Shamsi, Committee Chairperson; Ahmed Obaid Al Zaabi, Rapporteur; Ahmed Rashid Al Shamsi; Sultan Saeed bin Dalmook Al Suwaidi; Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi; Majid Al Darwish Al Shamsi; Ahmed Humaidi Al Ketbi; and Meera Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Secretary-General of the Council.
The Chairperson welcomed the department’s representatives, stressing that the meeting reflects the council’s commitment to scientific and objective planning for public policy discussions and to strengthening transparency and constructive cooperation with executive entities to serve the public interest.
For his part, Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Shamsi praised the engagement with the council, affirming the department’s full readiness to cooperate and provide all necessary information and clarifications to enrich discussions and support sustainable development in the emirate.
During the meeting, the department presented an overview of its strategic policy, based on the accuracy, integrity and reliability of the real estate register, the swift completion of transactions, and easy access to services. It highlighted its core responsibilities in organising, registering and safeguarding all types of property rights, ensuring their validity and legality, and issuing related official documents.
The discussion also covered the department’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its technical and service systems, launch initiatives to simplify procedures, and contribute to creating a secure environment for property investment.
Committee members raised observations and enquiries regarding the development of real estate legislation, improving integration between the department’s services and public utilities and urban development plans, and accelerating digital transformation. Views were exchanged to support the preparation of the forthcoming session in a comprehensive and practical manner.
At the conclusion, the committee emphasised the department’s pivotal role as a cornerstone of governance and urban and economic development in Sharjah. It expressed appreciation for its efforts to modernise infrastructure and services and agreed to continue productive coordination to serve the emirate’s strategic goals and enhance community wellbeing and happiness.
