Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) Office Board held its meeting at the Council's headquarters in Sharjah, as part of the third regular session of the eleventh legislative term. The meeting focused on discussing upcoming plans and the Council's agenda for the next phase, within the framework of continuing its legislative and oversight role and strengthening its parliamentary presence.
Reflecting the pulse of the street
 
The meeting was chaired by Her Excellency Halima Humaid, Chairperson of SCC, who emphasised in her address the Council's pivotal role as a vital bridge between the government and society. She stressed the Council's unwavering commitment to being the voice of the citizen, expressing various issues and needs through its discussions, policies, parliamentary questions, and initiatives that reflect the pulse of the street and the aspirations of the people of the Emirate.

She expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support of SCC and his continuous commitment to enabling it to fulfil its national mission to the fullest extent. She affirmed that this support serves as an incentive to redouble efforts and enhance contributions in line with the comprehensive development witnessed by the Emirate.
 
Discussing government departments and bodies policies
 
The meeting addressed parliamentary plans in the legislative and oversight areas, including holding upcoming plenary sessions and discussing the policies of several government departments and bodies. It also covered the submission of parliamentary questions and the follow-up on proposals and complaints received from members and the public, all of which contribute to greater integration and coordination between the Council and government agencies in the Emirate.
 
Serving the Emirate of Sharjah and its people
 
The Council Speaker also commended the level of cooperation and coordination among members, the General Secretariat of the Council, and various government entities, emphasising the importance of ongoing work to ensure the quality of parliamentary performance and the effectiveness of its outcomes. The meeting concluded by emphasising the continuation of parliamentary efforts to enhance the Consultative Council's position as an effective platform for institutional dialogue, contributing to decision-making, public policy development, and strengthening the partnership between the Council and the community in service of the Emirate of Sharjah and its people.
 
Participants in the meeting included His Excellency Rashid Abdullah bin Howaiden, Vice Chairman of the Council, and members of the Bureau, including the heads of the standing committees: Mohammed Ali Jaber Al Hammadi, Head of the Legislative, Legal, Appeals, Proposals, and Complaints Committee; Engineer Jamila Al Fandi Al Shamsi, Head of the Public Utilities Committee; Tariq Murad Mirz Al Balushi, Head of the Financial, Economic, and Industrial Affairs Committee; Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi, Head of the Recommendations Drafting Committee; Dr Ruqaya Rashid Al Zaabi, Head of the Health, Labor, and Social Affairs Committee; and Saeed Matar bin Hamed Al Tunaiji, Head of the Family Affairs Committee. Also present were Mira Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Secretary-General of the Council and Rapporteur of the Bureau, and Saif bin Suwaif Al Ketbi from the General Secretariat of the Council.
