Developing public policies
The meeting was an extension of the Council's approach to activating its oversight and legislative role and enhancing its contribution to developing public policies. This is achieved through studying topics related to the education sector at all levels, as well as the fields of culture, media, heritage, and antiquities. The committee also addressed youth issues and their empowerment, reflecting the Council's commitment to investing in human capital as the cornerstone of comprehensive development.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, with the participation of committee members: Yousef Mohammed Al Mazrouei Committee Rapporteur; Sheikha Al Dhanin Al Naqbi; Kulthum Saif Al Tunaiji; Mouza Maadad Bin Huwaiden; Dr Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi; and Abdullah Al Sufi from the General Secretariat of the Council.
Reviewing priorities
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the priorities for the current phase, focusing on supporting the quality of education and improving its outcomes, enhancing cultural and media initiatives that reinforce national identity and preserve cultural heritage, and discussing ways to empower youth and effectively engage them in development and community participation.
Enhancing effectiveness of parliamentary performance
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continuing to hold regular meetings and follow up on the issues at hand in a spirit of teamwork, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of parliamentary performance and supporting the role of the Consultative Council as a platform for constructive institutional dialogue and community service.
Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, Chair of the Committee, affirmed that the Committee continues its work according to a clear vision stemming from its parliamentary responsibility to study challenges and propose recommendations that support the development of relevant sectors. She noted that the next phase requires greater integration between the Council and relevant entities to ensure the achievement of shared goals.
Al Naqbi added that the Committee is keen to listen to various opinions and proposals and work to formulate them into practical recommendations that contribute to strengthening the development process witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah.
