Athletes from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Libya, Palestine and Iraq are competing in recurve and compound events, with competitions hosted at Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and the Sharjah Women’s Sports Olympic Centre. The UAE leads with 14 athletes from Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Abu Dhabi Archery Club, followed by Kuwait with four athletes, Bahrain and Qatar with three each, and single representatives from Libya, Palestine and Iraq.
The competition began following the official technical meeting at the Sharjah Women’s Sports headquarters. The meeting reviewed competition schedules, athlete eligibility procedures, accreditation distribution, and approved technical systems for results monitoring. Anti-doping regulations were also highlighted, with officials emphasising strict compliance to ensure athlete safety and fair play.
The approved programme schedules qualification rounds for 3 February to determine seedings, with individual and team events progressing to the semi-finals on the same day. Finals and third-place matches are scheduled for 4 February.
