The workshop was attended by His Excellency Dr Abdulaziz Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and Head of the Executive Committee for Expanding Healthy Cities; His Excellency Brigadier Dr Ali Bu Zoud, Director General of the General Directorate of Resources and Support Services at Sharjah Police and Deputy Head of the Executive Committee; and several committee members, including Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Abdullah, Director of the Educational Office for the School Operations Sector at the Ministry of Education; His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Al Kdeid, Director of the Statistics and Community Development Department; His Excellency Hanan Al Yafei, Director General of the Child Safety Department; His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council; His Excellency Adel Omar Salem Omar, Director of Public Health and Central Laboratories at Sharjah City Municipality; Her Excellency Khulood Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Community Services Sector at the Sharjah Social Services Department; Dr Ameera Saif Al Khajah, Director of the Primary Healthcare Department in Sharjah; Hussein Al Mulla, Senior Media Relations Executive at the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; and Laheeb Mustafa Al Mutawalli, Quality Assurance Expert at the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
The workshop, delivered by Colonel Eng. Juma Salem Al Zaabi, covered several key themes, including the development of emergency response plans for various crises through structured plans and scenarios that ensure readiness and prompt action.
Discussions also addressed defining roles and responsibilities to organise operations and distribute tasks among concerned entities, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration.
The session highlighted the importance of decision-making and managing situations during crises and disasters, stressing the need to address different emergency scenarios and make timely decisions as fundamental pillars of crisis management.
Another focus area was business continuity and service sustainability, emphasising the importance of proactive planning to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of services during crises.
