Poetic voices echo the love of homeland at Nabati Poetry Festival

Sharjah24: The twentieth edition of the Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival continued its programme with a poetry evening at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah, attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Department; and Butti Al Mazloum, Director of Al Hira Literary Council, alongside a large audience of Nabati poetry enthusiasts and cultural figures.

The readings ranged from romantic verse and expressions of national pride to intimate, reflective meditations on the human condition.

Distinguished poets take the stage

The evening, presented by media personality Aisha Hassan, featured a distinguished group of poets: Hazim Al Hajri (UAE), Mohammed bin Saeedan (Qatar), Saba Al Asmari (Saudi Arabia), Khulood Al Barrari (Kuwait), Nasser Al Taie (Syria), and Ayam Qandeel (Oman).

Verses of tenderness, wisdom and belonging

Emirati poet Hazim Al Hajri opened the evening with a selection of poems characterised by lyrical language and graceful imagery.

Mohammed bin Saeedan followed with poems reflecting wisdom and life experience, offering thoughtful insights shaped by personal journeys.

Saba Al Asmari then presented a variety of poems with strong national themes and a tone of pride in cultural identity.

Khulood Al Barrari delivered a set of pieces that blend human sensitivity with heartfelt emotional expression.

Nasser Al Taie shared poems distinguished by emotional depth and concentrated imagery, engaging the audience with their intensity.

Ayam Qandeel also contributed lyrical poems that conveyed clarity of feeling and sincerity of sentiment.
