Sharjah 24: Students from the College of Agriculture at the University of Al Dhaid (UODH) achieved remarkable results during their participation in the first Afro-Arab Agricultural Conference held in Egypt. They made a distinguished appearance and achieved notable results in several competitions held alongside the conference, reflecting the high academic and professional standards of the university's students.

The participation saw UODH win first place in the wall magazine competition, sharing the prize with Cairo University. Several other students also achieved top rankings.

Great achievements

Salah Ahmed Amin and Omar Ali Abdulwahed won first place in the wall magazine competition, while Rashid Jassim Abdullah won first place in the Ideal Student competition. Maryam Abdullah Zainal and Hawa Musa Ramadan achieved third place in the community initiative competition. The Al Dhaid University team was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award in recognition of their commitment to the values of cooperation, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

In another achievement for the university, UODH received the overall shield award for the agricultural programme, in recognition of its outstanding participation and the excellence of its students in the various competitions and activities accompanying the programme.

Preparing national talent

In this context, Her Excellency Professor Dr Aisha Bushlaibi, Director of UODH, affirmed that these achievements are a result of the significant support the university and its students receive, and its continuous commitment to enabling students to participate in regional events that contribute to honing their academic and practical skills. She noted that the students' participation and distinction in such forums reflects the university's vision of preparing national talent capable of competing and innovating.

Sharjah Ruler support

Bushlaibi added that this excellence comes under the support and patronage that UODH receives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who places great importance on higher education and scientific research, and is keen to provide a stimulating educational environment that enables students to achieve success and raise the profile of the UAE in regional and international forums.

The university director affirmed that Al Dhaid University will continue to support its students and encourage them to actively participate in scientific and cultural activities, which will contribute to enhancing their experiences, building their capabilities, and consolidating the university’s position as an active academic institution at the regional level.
