Jonathan Milan sprints to Stage 5 victory at UAE Tour 2026

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Italy’s Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek powered to victory in Stage 5 of the 8th edition of the UAE Tour, known as the Dubai Stage. Covering 168 km in 3 hours 33 minutes and 18 seconds at an average speed of 47.257 km/h, Milan crossed the finish line ahead of Erlend Blikra of Uno-X Mobility and Matteo Malucelli of XDS Astana Team.

Antonio Tiberi retains red jersey

Despite Milan’s stage triumph, Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain Victorious remains at the top of the General Classification, keeping hold of the Red Jersey. Isaac Del Toro of UAE Team Emirates XRG trails by 21 seconds in second place overall.

Milan reflects on his victory

Speaking after the finish, Milan reflected on his strategy and team support, noting that having finished third in the same stage last year, he knew the importance of being at the front in the second last corner. He praised his team for controlling the stage and positioning him perfectly for the sprint, expressing his happiness with the result and gratitude for his teammates’ efforts. Milan added that while tomorrow’s stage may not suit him, he hopes to secure another win on Sunday.
